Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Workshop Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
June 25, 2018

The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held today at the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer, Commissioners Boyer, Piechowski and Spruill.  Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Smith.

There was two guests and two residents in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the March 2018 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0.

Under unfinished business Burgess Rittelmeyer gave an update and provided a handout on the Israel Creek project. He informed the Council that SHA will be here at the July 10th town meeting.

Burgess Rittelmeyer updated the Council on the streets project.

Commissioner Spruill had no unfinished business.

Commissioner Piechowski reported the curb in front of 307 Copper Oaks Drive has not been fixed.  Burgess Rittelmeyer suggested waiting to repair it until we do our streets project.

Commissioner Boyer provided a handout on a few changes to the Fee Schedule for Planning and Zoning.  A brief discussion was held.

Under new business, Commissioner Spruill opened the discussion on speeders on N. Second Street.  He would like to see the speed bump be placed on the street again.  After discussion it was decided to move the radar sign back to N. Second, collect data and review it.

Commissioner Piechowski had no new business.

Commissioner Boyer had no new business.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported he will have the maintenance men evaluate all storm drains in town.

Resident John Cutshall was in attendance and reiterated on what the Council had already discussed.  He asked if there was any grants and Burgess Rittelmeyer informed him there is not any that the town would qualify for.  He also questioned the junk cars throughout town.

Mr. Dan New and Mr. Wendell Miley representing the Woodsboro New Midway Rec Council was in attendance and presented the town with a plaque showing their appreciation for all the town’s support to the Rec Council.

Resident Ken Kellar was in attendance and reported on a Storm Water Management Plan with Walkersville.  He also suggested the town contact Walkersville to inquire on ticketing through the radar sign.  Mr. Kellar also voiced his concerns with people in the middle of the streets walking and playing.

There being no further business, a motion to close the meeting was passed 3 – 0.
