Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
July 10, 2018

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer and Commissioners Smith, Boyer and Piechowski.  Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Spruill.

There was three guest and two residents in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the May 2018 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

After review of the May 2018 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

After review of the June 2018 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

Under Unfinished business SHA representatives was in attendance to update the Council on the Israel Creek project.  A slide presentation and discussion was held.

Commissioner Smith reminded Burgess Rittelmeyer that trees at the corner of S. Adams St. and Gravel Hill Road have not been trimmed and inquired on sending the resident a letter.

Commissioner Piechowski would like to discuss the resident survey at the August town meeting.  He also reported the buckled curb in front of 307 Copper Oaks Drive is getting worse.  He also is curious on what data from the radar sign has been collected.

Commissioner Boyer had no old business to discuss.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported on the streets project with Kercher and provided a handout.  To do all the streets, including Copper Oaks which was not on the plan, the approximate cost would be $242,000.  $82,000 of that is for Copper Oaks sub-division.  A discussion was held.  Commissioner Smith made a motion to include Copper Oaks in the plan.  Motion passed 3 – 0.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on the storm drains in town.  He reported there are a lot of them that need repairs or replaced. Burgess Rittelmeyer will get estimates.

Burgess Rittelmeyer presented a quote from the water/sewer operator for work that needs done on the Russet Leaf tank.  The quote was for $31,000.  Burgess Rittelmeyer indicated it was not an emergency but we need to thinking about it.  The operator will get more information to discuss at a later date.

Burgess Rittelmeyer informed the Council that there would not be a July Workshop Meeting.  The next meeting will be the Town Meeting on August 14th.

Resident John Cutshall was in attendance and had questions on the financial report.  All his questions were answered.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn passed 3 – 0.
