Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
December 11, 2018

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the fellowship room of St. John’s UCC with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer, Boyer, Spruill and Piechowski.  Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Smith.

There was one guest and three residents in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the November 2018 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

After review of the November 2018 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on the CD’s and their rates the town currently has deposited in the Woodsboro Bank. After a discussion on the rates provided, it was decided to revise the maturity dates on the CD’s and move $300,000 from money market 24638 to a three month CD.  A motion to approve the changes as Burgess Rittelmeyer suggested, passed 3 – 0.

Commissioner Piechowski started a discussion on contacting Mr. Lancaster and Burgess Rittelmeyer deferred that discussion.

Commissioner Piechowski opened discussion on 601 Scarlet Oak Ct.  Burgess Rittelmeyer informed him he sent a certified letter to the resident.  Burgess Rittelmeyer reported on the contents of that letter.  After discussion, it was decided to contact the town attorney and have him send a letter as well.

Commissioner Piechowski inquired on the possibility and benefit of annexing the Comus property.  This property is the quarry on Liberty Road.

Commissioner Boyer had nothing to report.

Commissioner Spruill inquired on the black dodge truck that parks along Elizabeth Street.

Mr. Rick Beall was in attendance to discuss the sale of his property on N. Second Street.  Discussion was held and all questions were answered.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported there will be no December Workshop meeting.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported he would like to hold a discussion on options for a Town Hall in January or February of 2019.

Burgess Rittelmeyer inquired on giving the employees a Christmas bonus again this year and all agreed to give one.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting passed 3 – 0.
