Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Workshop Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
March 26, 2018

The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held today at the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer, Commissioners Boyer, Piechowski, Spruill and Smith.

There was no guest and one resident in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the February 2018 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0 with Commissioner Spruill abstaining.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on moving the town hall.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported he will be contacting the Kercher group to discuss the streets project again.

Commissioner Spruill reported receiving data from the radar sign.  He will have a report soon.  A discussion on where to place the sign next was held and it was decided to place it by the cemetery for traffic heading north.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported the next town meeting would be on April 19, 2018 and there would be no Workshop meeting.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported he will have a draft budget at the April 19th meeting.

Commissioner Boyer reported on a train derailment at NZ Cramer’s.

Commissioner Boyer reported the New Midway and Woodsboro Elementary Schools would not be merging.

Commissioner Boyer reported the maintenance men did a great job on plowing the streets and Adam had issues with his truck and plow.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported receiving one complaint on snow plowing.

Commissioner Boyer reported the next Planning and Zoning meeting would be held on April 2, 2018.

Commissioner Spruill opened discussion on a Facebook page, Living in Woodsboro.  He reported a post asking why the town does not have a carnival any longer and how he answered it.

There being no further business, a motion to close the meeting was passed 4 – 0.
