Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Workshop Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland

July 24, 2017

The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held today at the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer, Commissioners Smith, Boyer, Spruill and Piechowski.

There was no guest or residents in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the June 2017 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented was passed 4 – 0.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on a letter referencing CD’s in the Woodsboro Bank.  It was originally thought that the town would not be penalized for early withdrawals; the letter indicated differently.

Burgess Rittelmeyer presented a letter from town attorney, John Clapp in reference to the PWA for Copper Oaks II.   A discussion was held.  Burgess Smith will contact Marc to perform pressure test on Scarlet Oak Court.

Commissioner Smith reported trees that are falling into the roadway along the Bowers property at the south end of town.  He said they need trimmed back.  Commissioner Boyer reported they are also blocking a sign.  Burgess Rittelmeyer will go look at them.

Commissioner Smith reported Kercher will be back in touch with him concerning an RFP street work.

Commissioner Spruill asked if we filled all vacancies on Planning and Zoning and Board of Appeals.  He was informed we have.

Commissioner Piechowski reported buckling of the street on Copper Oaks Drive.

Commissioner Piechowski opened discussion on the security of the radar sign and gave an idea of how to secure it.

Commissioner Boyer reported calling Mr. Shoemaker in reference to the entrance on the east side of the park and he didn’t get an answer.  Burgess Rittelmeyer informed him the maintenance men are currently working with Mr. Shoemaker to fix it.

Commissioner Boyer reported the Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on August 7th.

Burgess Rittelmeyer reported we can’t get wood carpet through POS request because it is considered maintenance.

There being no further business, a motion to close the meeting was passed 4 – 0.
