Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland

August 8, 2017

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Rittelmeyer and Commissioners Spruill, Boyer and Piechowski.  Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Smith.

There was one guest and five residents in attendance.

Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the July 2017 minutes, a motion to accept them with one correction passed 3 – 0.

After review of the July 2017 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

Burgess Rittelmeyer presented information on a pressure monitoring device.  It was decided to discuss it further at the Workshop meeting.

Commissioner Spruill inquired on electronically sending utility bills instead of mailing them.

Commissioner Spruill opened discussion on the Facebook page, Living in Woodsboro and asked if anyone is policing the comments.  Burgess Rittelmeyer will look at them.

Commissioner Piechowski had nothing to report.

Commissioner Boyer inquired on the entrance to the east side of the park.  Burgess Rittelmeyer reported Mr. Shoemaker will be fixing it.

Commissioner Boyer opened discussion about engine brakes on the trucks traveling on Rt. 194.  He indicated he has received comments from residents in reference to them.  He also reported on a drug overdose close to his residence.

Commissioner Boyer opened discussion on the Civil War sign in front of Trout’s Market that was damaged.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on the Planning and Zoning Commission and asked Commissioner Boyer to get with the town’s Zoning Administrator to set up a specific day of each month for a meeting.

Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on the website.  He received a suggestion to have each Council member’s picture on the website.  Commissioner Spruill inquired on having the town employees listed on the website.

Mr. Zeender, 608 Scarlet Oak Ct. was in attendance to inquire on the Lancaster development which borders his back yard.  He questioned if Lancaster Craftsman Builders was going to clean up and improve the lots before they were sold.  Burgess Rittelmeyer informed him that trees can’t be taken down by agreement.

Mr. Young, 204 Autumn Sky Terrace was in attendance and informed the Council that Lancaster was going to put in a berm behind his house and the Zeender’s.

Ms. Heather Johnson, 612 Scarlet Oak Ct. asked if any funds was released to Lancaster and she was informed nothing has been released.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 3 – 0.
