Council Meetings
Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.
Planning and Zoning
Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.
Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss. If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Workshop Meeting Minutes
Woodsboro, Maryland
August 28, 2017
The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held today at the Town Hall with the following members present:
Burgess Rittelmeyer, Commissioners Smith, Boyer and Spruill. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Piechowski.
There was no guest and four residents in attendance.
Burgess Rittelmeyer called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After review of the July 2017 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0.
Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on Well 1. A discussion on testing the well was held. A motion to test for gallons per minute and the quality of the water passed 3 – 0.
Burgess Rittelmeyer opened discussion on purchasing a water pressure gauge/recorder. A motion to purchase one and spend up to $1,000 in cost passed 3 – 0.
Commissioner Smith presented a handout on an estimated cost for Kercher Group to provide the town with an RFP for bidding on the streets project. That cost was $19,200. A discussion was held and it was decided to have a representative with Kercher attend a meeting to answer questions.
Commissioner Smith opened discussion on the trees at the south end of Main Street that border the Bowers Lumber property. Burgess Rittelmeyer indicated he did look at it and found it to be passable. After discussion, it was decided to have the maintenance men clean it up.
Commissioner Boyer reported on a recent Planning and Zoning meeting that was held to appoint Jay Wolfe as the new Chairman. He reported they decided to hold their meetings on the first Monday of every month, beginning at 6:00 PM. Discussion was then held on a code change. He also reported that agenda items need to be to Susan Hauver 10 days prior to a meeting. It was also decided for the Planning and Zoning Commission to attend a town meeting to better know what they can and cannot do.
Commissioner Spruill inquired on the town’s code for dogs. He was informed they must be on a leash. He then reported on a dog that is tied outside at 100 N. Second Street and continuously gets loose to roam the town. It was suggested people call Animal Control to have the dog picked up.
Burgess Rittelmeyer reported the entrance to the park is complete.
Resident Jerry Massie and wife Katie was in attendance to discuss an issue with the curb/gutter in front of his home at 307 Copper Oaks Drive. Mr. Massie presented pictures for the Council. The Council asked Mr. Massie to not do any repair until we can have someone evaluate the situation.
Resident Donald Trimmer was in attendance and reported a gas odor near his home.
Commissioner Spruill inquired on the monument in front of Trout’s Market that was damaged and the cracked top on the one still standing. He was informed the damaged one has been taken down. Burgess Rittelmeyer will look at the top of the one still standing.
There being no further business, a motion to close the meeting was passed 3 – 0.
