Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
May 10, 2016
The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following
members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Rittelmeyer, Spruill, Kellar and Piechowski.

There was seven guests and four residents in attendance.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the March 2016 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 -0.

After review of the March 2016 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 -0.

The first line of business was a discussion on a text amendment in the NMX (Neighborhood
Mixed Use) zoning. It was decided to strike auto sales from the amended text. A motion to
approve automobile repair stations permitted by special exception passed 4 -0. A Public Hearing for the text amendment will be held on June 14, 2016.

A representative from the Rec Council was in attendance to discuss the batting cage and a new
equipment storage shed. Discussion on where to place them was held.

Burgess Smith presented his FYl 7 Budget. He reported property taxes and water and sewer rates would remain the same. The budget will be voted on at the June meeting.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported on speaking with Mr. Ryan Trout about installing children’s learning stations in the park. Commissioner Rittelmeyer gave an explanation of the project.

Commissioner Piechowski had nothing to report.

Commissioner Spruill had nothing to report.

Commissioner Kellar gave a report on a meeting he had with My Sidewalk representatives.

Commissioner Kellar reported the Planning and Zoning Commission is still short one member. He recommended Jason Boyer be appointed. A motion to appoint Jason Boyer to the Planning and Zoning Commission was passed 4 – 0.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on re-keying the town and suggested we use a primus key system. A motion to use the primus key system passed 4 – 0.

Shirley Morgan, resident of Woodsboro was in attendance to inquire on maintenance to the streets in town. Burgess Smith informed her the plan is to start on Second Street. A discussion was held on a 5 or 10 year plan. Burgess Smith will contact the county for recommendations on the streets.

Jason Boyer, resident of Woodsboro was in attendance to discuss sub-dividing one of his properties.

Sis Lee, resident of Woodsboro was in attendance to discuss several things in town that need attention. Among those was, the broken curb in front of 9 S. Main Street, sand bags behind her house on Adams Street, the ditch along Southern States property that borders Adams Street, the junk at 102 Adams Street and the brush in front of 4 N Main Street. Burgess Smith will speak with Southern States to get that ditch cleaned out and will write a letter to the property owners of I 02 Adams Street and 4 N. Main Street.

Commissioner Kellar reported on a property being sold in town and thought it would make a nice town hall. A brief discussion was held.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 4 – 0.
