Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
February 9, 2016

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Rittelmeyer, Spruill and Piechowski. Arriving late was Commissioner Kellar.

There was five guests and one resident in attendance.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the November 2015 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 2 – 0 with Commissioner Spruill abstaining.

After review of the January 2016 minutes, a motion to correct with one correction passed 3 – 0 with Commissioner Kellar abstaining.

After review of the November 2015 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.

After review of the December 2015 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.

After review of the January 2016 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.

Representatives from Fredrock Disc Golf was in attendance to discuss the disc golf course in the park.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on the MOU for the Trout property. It was decided that Mr. Clapp should forward his remarks to the developer’s attorney.

Commissioner Rittlemeyer reported on the POS funds and the Rec Council’s upcoming season.

 

 

 

 

 

Commissioner Piechowski inquired on the status of the rock in well 3. It was decided to have the water operator attend the next Workshop meeting.

Commissioner Spruill opened discussion on the recent blizzard and the snow removal during that blizzard. Resident Barbara Keyser was in attendance to voice her concerns.

Commissioner Kellar offered a suggestion for cleaning the overflow pipe out at the pond.

Woodsboro New Midway Rec Council (WNMRC) representatives was in attendance to discuss installing a PA system at field 1. The Council agreed to allow the system. Permit procedures was explained to them.

Burgess Smith presented mylars for the Copper Oaks II development. All agreed they could be signed.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on Copper Oaks II. He suggested we obtain a Letter of Credit vs. a Bond and also verified the town will take over the road upon completion of the development.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 4 – 0.
