Town Council Meeting Minutes
January 13, 2015
The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:
Burgess Smith and Commissioners Trimmer, Rittelmeyer, Spruill and Kellar.
Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were three guests and one resident in attendance.
Resident Judy Katz was in attendance to discuss getting the development signs at Copper Oaks removed from their post so that she and a neighbor can repaint them. She will let the town know when they are ready for them. Ms Katz also opened discussion on snow removal in front of her house. She asked the Council to ensure that the pushed snow is approximately 2 foot from the curb.
The first line of business was with Mr. Mark Lancaster and Mr. Lee Miller. They were in attendance to present a plan for Copper Oaks II. The revised plan now shows seven homes as opposed to the original discussed five homes. The street will no longer be a common drive but a 24 foot wide town road. Storm water management will now be on each lot because of the size of lots. This meets the new Maryland standard. After a brief discussion it was decided their next step would be to meet with the Woodsboro Planning and Zoning Commission.
After review of the October 2014 minutes a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0. Commissioner Spruill abstained.
After review of the December 2014 financials a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.
Commissioner Spruill inquired on the job offer for a Code Enforcement Officer and was informed the applicant accepted the position. A brief discussion was held and it was decided to have the Code Enforcer attend a meeting with a list of procedures.
Commissioner Kellar reported receiving a call from a resident in reference to a homeless man living in town and that he contacted the Sheriff’s Department. Burgess Smith reported that the town and several residents have already contacted the Sheriff’s Department in reference to this person.
Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported receiving an email from a gentleman inquiring on the skating pond this winter. Commissioner Rittelmeyer informed him there would not be a skating pond this winter.
Commissioner Trimmer had nothing to report.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn and go into closed session was passed 4 – 0.
