Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
August 11, 2015

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Rittelmeyer, Spruill and Piechowski. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Kellar.

There was four guest in attendance.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After review of the July 2015 minutes a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0.

After review of the July 2015 financials a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

Under old business Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported the final POS paperwork is ready to be mailed.

Burgess Smith reported he has contacted the Sheriff’s Department and they will have someone attend the September Town Meeting.

Burgess Smith reported he is currently researching a way to fix Mr. Lee’s water run off issue. He is looking at temporary buffers that can be removed during the winter when the streets are plowed.

Under New Business Commissioner Rittelmeyer presented a quote for lighting at the tennis courts and LED lighting at the WWTP through POS grant funds. After discussion it was decided to move forward with Brandenburg Electric’s proposal of $17,760. A motion to use Brandenburg Electric’s bid with a $1,000 cushion was passed 3 – 0.

Commissioner Spruill had nothing to report.

 

 

 

 

Commissioner Piechowski reported on the water and wastewater tour given by Operator Marc Angleberger.

Ms. Natalie Hildebrand was in attendance to discuss handicap parking at her new business located at 208 N. Main Street. It was decided to put a handicap parking pad in the front yard of the residence. Burgess Smith also discussed the repaving of her driveway and the concerns of a neighbor. Burgess Smith will meet with the neighbor to decide what can be done and report back to Ms. Hildebrand. A motion to allow Ms. Hildebrand handicap parking, while maintaining street drainage, passed 3 – 0.

Maryland State Senator Hough was in attendance to speak with the Council on any concerns they may have. All questions were answered.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 3 – 0.
