Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
December 22, 2014

The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held today at the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith, Commissioners Trimmer, Rittelmeyer, Kellar and Spruill.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were five guests in attendance.

The first line of business was with the Verdant Development Group. Mr. Poss, President of the company provided a new layout of the plan to development the vacant property at the south end of town on Main Street. After a lengthy discussion it was decided that the developer prepare a list of requirements by the Council and provide due diligence for each one. They will meet again with the Council in the near future.

After review of the November 2014 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on an email from Jay Wolfe in reference to Woodsboro Days. He was inquiring on having a link on the Town’s website to direct people to more information. All agreed it was a good idea and Commissioner Rittelmeyer will contact Mr. Wolfe.

Commissioner Spruill reported receiving complaints about residents parking on sidewalks in front of the townhomes at the corner of North Second and Coppermine Road.

Commissioner Kellar had nothing to report.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer inquired on the reimbursement from POS and Mary informed him it has not been received yet.

Commissioner Trimmer had nothing to report.

A brief discussion was held on hiring a Code Enforcement Officer. A previous candidate declined the position and another applicant was recently interviewed. A motion to hire the current applicant, Mr. Kevin Poole, at a rate of $35 an hour passed 4 – 0.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
Mary E. Rice
