Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
July 10, 2012

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Brakebill, Spruill, Trimmer and Rittelmeyer.

There was three guest and no residents in attendance.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order.

Deputy Sutton presented his report for the Town and surrounding area.

After review of the June 2012 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0.

After review of the June 2012 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 4 – 0. A motion to transfer $30,000 from the General Fund Checking account into the General Fund Money Market account passed 4 – 0.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported on a recent POS meeting. The Town will be granted $22,200 in grant funds to be used in the park. A breakdown of those funds was explained.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported the trash cans for the park have been ordered and received. He also reported that he will be contacting Mike Hay again to plant trees where the fields and meadows project is. This will most likely happen in the Spring of 2013.

Commissioner Trimmer reported on a problem with a sewer pump station. He also reported taking maintenance employee Dave Sirk to Frederick to apply for Medicare Health Insurance.

Commissioner Spruill reported he is still working on a process plan for residents when needing Planning and Zoning help.

Commissioner Brakebill opened discussion on the line painting project. He is hoping that things will soon get started as it’s been almost a year since the original discussion. Burgess Smith will get with the maintenance crew to get things started.

Under New Business Commissioner Rittelmeyer suggested painting the center and side lines of the streets as well. He also inquired on the sludge meter for the WWTP and Mary will check with the company for a proposal.

Delegate Kelly Schultz was in attendance to talk with the Council about the Legislative Session and answer questions.

Guest Will Anderson was in attendance to observe the meeting as part of earning his Communications Badge with the Boy Scouts. Questions were asked and answered.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 3 – 0. Commissioner Trimmer excused himself from the meeting earlier.
