Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.

Planning and Zoning

Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss.  If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
December 11, 2012

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Brakebill, Rittelmeyer and Trimmer. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Spruill.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There was no guest and one resident in attendance.

After review of the November 2012 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.

Commissioner Brakebill reminded the Council that a member on the Planning and Zoning Committee and the Board of Appeals needs to be replaced.

Commissioner Brakebill reported there are still a few lines that need to be painted on the streets and suggested waiting until Spring to do them.

Commissioner Brakebill opened discussion on having curb and gutter throughout the town. He thought sidewalks could wait until a later date. It was suggested to Commissioner Brakebill to get an estimated cost put together for the 2014 budget.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported on working with Mike Kay and Vonnie Crum on the tree planting project. The tentative date is April 6, 2013. He reported there are still funds left to plant larger trees along the walking path and that a contractor will do them. He also reported that he is still waiting to hear from the State on POS monies.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer remarked he hasn’t done much with the website lately but has recently sent a few things to Ms. Sandy Saylor for updating.

Commissioner Trimmer opened discussion on having the maintenance men trim trees along the streets of town to allow better clearance for the new street sweeper. He also reported the Frederick County MML Legislative Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, December 13th at the Cozy Restaurant in Thurmont.

Commissioner Trimmer reported on the mag meter for the WWTP and will get with Marc to have it installed.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer reported the maintenance men installed the pipe for the skating pond. He reported the grass had not been mowed and questioned whether we could actually have a skating pond. Burgess Smith suggested leaving the pipe installed.

Burgess Smith reported on the Public Works Agreement for the Rosewood Condos. A discussion was held on whether the Town should begin picking up their trash. A motion to do so beginning on January 1, 2013 passed 3 – 0.

Burgess Smith reminded the Council that the Workshop meeting for December falls on Christmas Eve. All agreed it should be cancelled.

There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was passed 3 – 0.
