Council Meetings
Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at Town Hall – 605 S. Main Street, Woodsboro MD, 21798. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.
Planning and Zoning
Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at Town Hall – 605 S. Main Street, Woodsboro MD, 21798. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss. If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes
Woodsboro, Maryland
July 14, 2026
The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Woodsboro Town Hall with the following members present:
Burgess Barnes, Commissioners Cutshall, Rittelmeyer, and Hahn. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Case.
There were four guests and fifteen residents in attendance.
Burgess Barnes called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After review of the June 2026 minutes, a motion to accept the minutes as presented passed 3 – 0.
After review of the June 2026 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.
Burgess Barnes reported the light installment on Knotty Alder Court is currently on the contractor’s schedule to be completed but no date has been set.
Reports from the Commissioners:
Commissioner Rittelmeyer gave a follow up on the Capacity Management Plan and a meeting with MD Rural Water.
Commissioner Hahn had nothing to report.
Commissioner Cutshall reported on meeting with Laurel Sand and Gravel in reference to Wellhouse 1.
Burgess Barnes opened discussion on the town’s attorney. He reported she is a great attorney but slow to respond or get task completed. He would like to entertain the town getting a new attorney.
Burgess Barnes reported on the town’s new maintenance employee who will begin work on July 20th.
Mr. Karl Rathvon who was representing the group Sleep in Heavenly Peace was in attendance to explain what their group does and handed out brochures.
Under comments from the public, Delores Bowen, S. Second Street, inquired about the next meeting for the townhome development. She was informed that one is not set at this time. She then pointed out that Burgess Barnes’ story in the Banner has the wrong place listed for town meetings.
Guest, Karl Rathvon asked if there would be a music festival this year and Burgess Barnes informed him there would not be one.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting passed 3 – 0.
