Under New Business, Burgess Barnes recommended to the Council to hire Mr. Jerry Muir as the Planning and Zoning Administrator. This position is a contractual position. Mr. Muir offered his services for $4,800 per year. A motion to hire Mr. Muir for $4,800 per year passed 4 – 0.

Commissioner Case then made a motion to donate $2,000 now and then put it in the FY27 budget. Motion failed due to there not being a second.
Under comments from the public, resident Rick Bontz, N. Main Street, spoke about the sidewalks in town and asked why an ADA compliant ramp was not on each side of the town hall’s sidewalk. He was informed because one side has a storm drain cover that cannot be concreted over and then it leads into a business’s parking lot.

Resident Mitzi Smith, Adams Street, reported she had seven people respond to her request to deliver food to Bell Court, the senior assisted living complex.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting passed 4 – 0.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary E. Rice
