Council Meetings
Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at Town Hall – 605 S. Main Street, Woodsboro MD, 21798. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.
Planning and Zoning
Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at Town Hall – 605 S. Main Street, Woodsboro MD, 21798. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.

Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss. If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes
Woodsboro, Maryland
November 17, 2025
The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Woodsboro Town Hall with the following members present:
Burgess Barnes, Commissioners Cutshall, Case, and Hahn. Arriving late was Commissioner Rittelmeyer.
There was one guest and six residents in attendance.
Burgess Barnes called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After review of the October 2025 minutes, a motion to accept the minutes as presented passed 3 – 0.
After review of the October 2025 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.
Under unfinished business, Burgess Barnes reported on the new bathroom in the park.
Under comments from the Commissioners, Commissioner Cutshall would like to put something in the budget for a remote gate at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Commissioner Cutshall also reported that Arnold Alley has been fixed, and someone fixed the railroad tracks.
Commissioner Case had nothing to report.
Commissioner Hahn reported on Community Events. This year the town will hold a Christmas decorating contest on December 18th at 7:00 PM.
Commissioner Rittelmeyer gave an update on the pond restoration project that is moving forward as planned.
Burgess Barnes opened discussion on the streetlights for Knotty Alder and asked Commissioner Case to get quotes for two lights and three lights. He would also like to see the cost from each transformer in the development. Burgess Barnes also gave an update on the meetings being live streamed in the future.
Under New Business, Burgess Barnes discussed a project Frederick County is doing. The project is Community Showcase Banners that each Municipality will hang on their Main Street. A motion to allow the County to install a banner passed 4 – 0.
Burgess Barnes announced he will not be here for the December meeting and asked the Council if they wanted to move the meeting or have it as scheduled. It was decided to have the meeting as scheduled.
Under comments from the public, Resident Rick Bontz, N. Main Street, provided a handout to the Council on sidewalk repairs. He indicated his research was done with Chambersburg, PA.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting passed 4 – 0.
