Council Meetings
Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. These public meetings start at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend. Please contact the Town Office at least two (2) weeks prior to a Council Meeting if you would like to get a topic on the agenda.
Planning and Zoning
Regularly scheduled Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday each month at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which start at 6:00 PM.
Woodsboro Planning & Zoning Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month as needed at 6:00 PM at the meeting room behind St. Johns Church, 8. N. Second St. Please contact the town office to be added to the agenda one (1) month prior to the meeting if you have business to discuss. If there are no topics brought forth to be placed on the agenda 1 month before this meeting, the committee will not meet that month.

Town Council Meeting Minutes

October 10, 2023
The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the fellowship room of St. John’s UCC with the following members present:
Burgess Barnes, Commissioners Cutshall, Rittelmeyer and Case. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Eckenrode.
There were two guests and ten residents in attendance.
Burgess Barnes called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After review of the September 2023 minutes, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.
After review of the September 2023 financials, a motion to accept them as presented passed 3 – 0.
Under unfinished business, Burgess Barnes discussed Woodsboro Days and the Grand Opening of the Skatepark.
Burgess Barnes gave a quick update on the Town Hall.
Burgess Barnes reported there were twelve residents that refused to get their meters changed out. They will have until October 20, 2023, to do so or their water will be turned off.
Burgess Barnes announced the October 23rd Workshop is cancelled.
Under reports from the Commissioners, Commissioner Rittelmeyer had nothing to report.
Commissioner Case had a few questions on the water meters. He also suggested making the alleys in town one way or putting mirrors up where driveways connect to alleys. Commissioner Rittelmeyer suggested changing the speed limit to 15 mph.
Commissioner Cutshall inquired on left over funds from the Skatepark and suggested putting security cameras up. Burgess Barnes informed him the left-over funds would be funding rails on the skatepark.
Commissioner Cutshall inquired about who owns the railway that runs through Woodsboro. He would like to contact them for a few repairs.
Under New Business, Burgess Barnes provided a handout of a sign for the skatepark and suggested the money raised by a committee be used for cameras instead of the sign.
Burgess Barnes reported that he is attending the Fall MML Conference October 15th thru the 17th.
Under comments from the public, Anthony Johnson, South Second Street, was in attendance to discuss a white truck and trailer that is parked along the street. He informed the Council that he and a friend had both spoken to the Code Enforcement Officer about getting it moved off the street. Burgess Barnes will speak with the Code Enforcement Officer.
Resident Kelly Munson, Autumn Sky Terrace, was in attendance to inquire on who was responsible for the streetlights and the islands on Copper Oaks Drive. She was informed that the streetlights are Potomac Edison’s and the islands are the sub-divisions responsibility that the town does not own them.
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn the meeting and go into closed session passed 4 – 0.
