Town Council Meeting Minutes

Woodsboro, Maryland
October 13, 2015

The Woodsboro Town Council met today at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Smith and Commissioners Rittelmeyer and Piechowski. Arriving late was Commissioner Kellar. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Spruill.

There was no guest and one resident in attendance.

Burgess Smith called the meeting to order and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The first line of business was with Ms. Joann Howell, 204 S. Main Street. Ms. Howell thanked the Council for their attention in fixing the storm drain in front of her home. She also inquired on when the sidewalk that runs along the side of 200 S. Main Street would be repaired. Burgess Smith informed her the town is currently obtaining bids to replace the storm drain and then all the sidewalk will be repaired.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on an email from AT&T. They have hired a company to work with the Town to reduce their rental fee on the Adams Street water tower. Burgess Smith gave Commissioner Piechowski a history on the cell carriers that rent space on the tower. It was suggested that we contact other municipalities to inquire on their rental fees for cell carriers. Burgess Smith will take care of this.

Burgess Smith opened discussion on getting bids to replace the storm drain from the west side of S. Main Street down to S. Second Street. It was decided to obtain bids for this project. Burgess Smith will contact companies asking for bids.

Commissioner Rittelmeyer inquired on whether the Public Hearing had been advertised. He was informed it was advertised on October 9th and will be advertised again on October 16th. He also reported he has not heard anything on POS funding yet.

After review of the September 2015 minutes a motion to accept them as presented was passed 3 – 0.
